So this past week I have been starting to find items for my
son’s (Jaylin) room. So far I have cut
out his name, which I will reveal in a later post, and I have purchased a
nightstand from the thrift store.
Here it is, well without the handle cause I was so excited
about how it turned out:
My DH is soooo jealousy.
He wants one now, which is really funny because I bought Jaylin and DH a
nightstand and my husband wanted me to take his back because it looked so bad. Whats funny is that I was going for the herringbone pattern, which was definitely done incorrectly, but DH calls it tire treads, which fit perfectly for a boy's room.
The breakdown of Cost:
Nightstand – local thrift store – $9.99 w/20% off
2 cans of Krylon Bauhaus
Gold Spray paint – Wal-Mart – $4.73
1 can of Rustoleum
Gray Gloss Spray Paint – Wal-Martt - $3.77 – (1/4 used)
1 can of clear Gloss
enamel Spray Paint – Wal-Mart - $3.77 (1/4 Used)
1 can of Zinsser BIN
– Wal-Mart - $5.42 (1/2 used)
1 can of Krylon red
Spray Paint – Free – had in my stash
Scotch Blue Tape –
Free – had in my stash
Drawer Handle – Wal-Mart – $8.95 – used one
Grand Total = $23.12
THAT IS GREAT TO ME!!!!
So next in line is his desk, which will be made out of an antique sewing machine that I had down the basement since I moved in my house 8 years ago.
BTW I officially hit the 8 year mark yesterday…WOOOHOO!!!
Let me know what you
think!!!!
